    • JobsOhio Small Business Grant – The JobsOhio Small Business Grant provides financial support for small businesses located in qualifying zip codes (44811, 44890, 44837, 44851) and/or owned by minorities, women, veterans and people with disabilities. 
    • JobsOhio Economic Development Grant – Grant decisions are based on several project factors, including but not limited to job creation, additional payroll, fixed-asset investment commitment, project return on investment, and project location. 
    • Roadwork Development (629) Funds – Available for public roadway improvements, including engineering and design costs. Funds are accessible for projects that create or retain jobs. Grants are provided to a local jurisdiction and require local participation. They can be used to reimburse accumulated costs. 
    • City of Norwalk Enterprise Zone – Norwalk’s Enterprise Zone encompasses all land within the city limits and offers tax incentives to encourage capital investment, job creation, and retention by applicable businesses. 
    • City of Norwalk Job Creation Tax Grant – This program offers an annual grant to eligible businesses that establish or expand in Norwalk and create at least 20 new full-time jobs or $750,000 in payroll within three years, based on a percentage of payroll withholding taxes from new employees. 
    • Community Reinvestment Area(s) (CRAs) – A CRA is a designated part of a town, village, or city where the local government offers a tax abatement to encourage property improvements and economic development. Huron County communities that offer a CRA are New London, Bellevue, and Willard. 
    • ODOT Jobs & Commerce Grant – The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Jobs and Commerce Grant provides funding to support infrastructure improvements that promote economic development, job creation, and business growth in Ohio. 
    • Port Authority Construction Sales Tax Savings – This program allows users to save on sales tax for approximately 50% of construction costs through leasing the property back from an authorized Port Authority

    • On the Job Training Program (OJT) – Through OJT programs, employers may be reimbursed up to 50% of the wages earned by eligible new trainees while they learn the job (up to $13,000). OJT is a federally funded program that helps employers hire and train workers that meet the household income guidelines. 
    • TechCred – Ohio’s TechCred Program gives employers the chance to upskill current and future employees. Employers who submit successful applications will be reimbursed up to $2,000 per credential when current or prospective employees complete eligible credentials. See eligible credentials here. 
    • F.Y.R.E. Program – Huron County Job & Family Services offers a workforce program for youth and young adults ages 14-24, matching participants with your company while covering 100% of their wages, assuming they meet eligibility requirements (up to $10 per hour for a maximum of 40 hours per week).

    • SBA 504 Loan – The SBA 504 loan is a long-term financing program designed to help small businesses acquire fixed assets like real estate and equipment, with a focus on job creation and economic development, typically featuring lower down payments and longer repayment terms. 
    • Regional 166 Direct Loan – Promotes economic development, business expansion and job creation by providing financial assistance for allowable costs of eligible projects in the State of Ohio. 
    • ECDI Veteran Loan Program – The Economic and Community Development Institute helps Veterans start and expand their business by combining training and technical assistance with necessary capital. 
    • ECDI Start-Up Business Loan Program – The Economic and Community Development Institute helps businesses start and expand by combining business training and technical assistance with necessary capital.

    • MAGNET – MAGNET, founded in 1984 as a nonprofit and part of the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership, helps small and medium-sized manufacturers in Northeast Ohio boost sales, create jobs, and save costs through innovation, training, and management improvements. 
    • Manufacturing Works – Manufacturing Works helps Northeast Ohio manufacturers grow by providing guidance on technology, talent, and leadership trends, while connecting them to resources, industry leaders, and local communities for support and collaboration. 
    • OhioMeansJobs Huron County – The OhioMeansJobs-Huron County Center offers employers free services such as job postings, job fairs, resume collection, candidate pre-screening, interview assistance, and access to labor market information, along with conference room and office space for recruiting. 
    • Great Lakes Trade Adjustment Assistance Center – The Great Lakes Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (GLTAAC), part of the University of Michigan’s Economic Growth Institute, has 40 years of experience helping import-injured firms in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan improve global competitiveness through the federally funded Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAAF) program. 
    • APEX Accelerator – The APEX Accelerators program help match Ohio businesses with contract opportunities, help them prepare bids, navigate requirements, and assist them after winning contracts, at no-cost.

    • American Express Backing Small Businesses – In partnership with Main Street America & American Express, the Backing Small Businesses grant program supports economically vulnerable and under-resourced small businesses with community reach and/or cultural significance.

    • Huron County SCORE – Since 1964, SCORE has helped more than 17 million entrepreneurs start, grow or successfully exit a business. SCORE’s 10,000 volunteers provide free, expert mentoring, resources and education in all 50 U.S. states and territories. 
    • Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses – Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a $750 million initiative providing entrepreneurs across the U.S. with education, financial capital, and business support through a network of over 100 academic and community partners, aimed at creating jobs and economic growth. 
    • ECDI Veteran Loan Program – The Economic and Community Development Institute helps Veterans start and expand their business by combining training and technical assistance with necessary capital.

    • UT School for Family Business – The University of Toledo Family Business Center is a resource for family-owned businesses, offering education, networking, and support to help them grow, transition, and address unique challenges such as succession planning and family governance. It focuses on fostering sustainability and success across generations. 
    • Minority Business Assistance Center – The Minority Business Assistance Centers (MBAC) offer free management, technical, financial, and contract procurement support, including access to capital and growth resources, to help MBE and EDGE businesses in Ohio succeed. 
    • APEX Accelerator – The APEX Accelerators program help match Ohio businesses with contract opportunities, help them prepare bids, navigate requirements, and assist them after winning contracts, at no-cost.
