Quarterly Member Breakfast Draws More Than 60 Attendees to EHOVE Career Center
Over 60 business and community leaders gathered Wednesday morning for the Huron County Growth Partnership’s August Quarterly Member Breakfast at EHOVE Career Center, an event focused on professional growth, and regional collaboration. The breakfast featured presentations from EHOVE Career Center Superintendent Chris McCully and Business Partnership Coordinator Annette McIver.
The morning began with networking and breakfast, followed by a special introduction of new HCGP member TJ Mahl, owner of Mahl Home Shield LLC. Mahl shared information about his company, its services, and his enthusiasm for becoming involved with the Huron County business community. Following the member’s spotlight, attendees heard from featured speakers on topics important to the region’s continued growth.
Superintendent Chris M. McCully discussed how EHOVE’s facility project will continue to positively impact the region’s economy during and after construction. The $210 million
facility project is an investment in the region’s future workforce, with completion projected for the 2029-2030 school year. During construction, education will continue uninterrupted as the project progresses in phases, with students transitioning into temporary learning spaces to ensure enrollment and programming remain seamless. Demolition of existing buildings is underway, and when complete, the campus will grow from approximately 280,000 square feet to nearly 600,000 square feet. “We all rely on the skilled workers who keep our communities running… from automotive technicians, cosmetologists and chefs to healthcare providers, construction tradespeople, and public safety personnel. Those future professionals are being trained at EHOVE today,” he said.
Although visitors may occasionally use a different entrance as construction progresses, community services will continue, including the restaurant, café, salon, and other student-operated services. EHOVE Business Partnership Coordinator Annette McIver showcased the customized workforce training opportunities available to area employers, demonstrating how targeted professional development can strengthen employees and organizations. Her presentation highlighted training focused on elevating customer service into exceptional customer experiences, strengthening customer retention and reputation management, reducing hand-off deflections, improving conflict resolution, and developing personalized action plans that help employees apply new skills in the workplace. EHOVE develops customized training solutions for businesses of all sizes, delivered on-site or on campus, with programs tailored to meet the workforce development needs of every business and industry.
