Extol of Ohio Announces $6 Million Expansion in Norwalk, Creating 35 New Jobs
NORWALK, Ohio — Extol of Ohio, Inc. announced a $6,000,000 expansion at its manufacturing facility located at 208 Republic St. in Norwalk. The project will add 67,500 square feet to the company’s existing facility and support the continued growth of the long-standing manufacturer.
Extol, which specializes in custom-fabricated industrial insulation systems for process facilities, estimates the expansion will create 35 new full-time jobs by 2029 and retain 90 existing positions. The company projects that the additional jobs will generate approximately $1 million in new annual payroll once the project is complete.
Robin DeGraff, owner of Extol of Ohio, Inc., stated, “Extol of Ohio is grateful to our employees for their relentless care of our expanding customer base, affording us this opportunity to invest in our future by expanding our Norwalk factory for the fourth time. This milestone was made possible through the combined support of Huron County Growth Partnership, Civista Bank, the City of Norwalk, Erie County Port Authority administered by Greater Sandusky Partnership, JobsOhio, Team NEO, and our contractor, Anstead Construction. The new space and state-of-the-art equipment ensure our ability to compete nationally and globally for years to come with our precision-fabricated insulation materials.”
Since opening its Norwalk facility in 1985, Extol of Ohio has grown substantially through a series of expansions and investments. Today, the company’s operations are roughly 30 times larger than when it first established its presence in the city. This expansion represents another significant investment in Norwalk’s manufacturing sector and reflects continued growth among established employers in Huron County.
“City leaders are pleased and excited that Extol continues to invest in and grow its operations in Norwalk,” shares Mayor Dave Light, noting the “company’s long-standing presence in the community and the quality manufacturing jobs it has brought and will continue to support. We look forward to Extol’s continued success and long-term commitment to the city.”
