Take Your Leadership Skills to the Next Level: Leadership Huron County Taking Applications for 2025 Class

A great opportunity for current and future leaders to grow their leadership skills

Huron County, OH – Led by Executive Director Susan Moore, Leadership Huron County is a program designed to train the future leaders of our community. The class gives students an opportunity to learn leadership skills, techniques and an understanding of their strengths as a leader. It also gives students a chance to do a deep dive into what makes Huron County great by interacting with business and civic leaders of the County. Many local companies including Fisher-Titus, Lakeside Book, Firelands Electric Cooperative, Huron County Growth Partnership and many others have utilized this program for the development of leaders on their staff.

“Aside from the individual growth I witness in our participants as they progress through the program”, says Moore, “what I love most is that Leadership Huron County brings together people from all professions, occupations and vocations who might otherwise never have an opportunity to interact. Despite their different work lives, they find commonality in their experiences as leaders and they leave the program with a network they can call on for support going forward.”

Of course, the other bonus is that everyone, even those who have lived in Huron County most of their lives, discovers assets and resources they never knew existed in their own backyard.  The leadership development experiences foster growth in the strengths each person already possesses and gives them the opportunity to apply those strengths in planning and facilitating some of our classes.  Our participants win; their sponsors win, and in the end, Huron County wins as we prepare leaders for key roles in all walks of life in our communities.

Here are a few things recent Leadership Huron County graduates had to say about the program:

  • Seeing how my strengths fit into the big picture without being an extrovert. Seeing the passion each speaker had for their craft was inspiring and reminds me not to allow myself to sink into the mundane of the day to day.
  • What I will value most are the connections I was able to make with my classmates, speakers and the community in general.
  • I certainly didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but I can honestly say that this experience was the best investment I have ever made for myself personally and professionally.
  • There are not enough good things to say about this program! I have evolved so much as an individual and a leader. I would recommend this program to anyone looking to grow and improve their skills.
