Public Survey Open Now: Help Inform Huron County Land Use Plan
Land Use Plan aims to address farmland preservation as well as future growth in the County
Residents, property owners, businesses, and community stakeholders are invited to help shape the future of Huron County by participating in the newly launched Land Use Plan Public Engagement Survey, now open in online & physical formats – https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8tW91gIdQxeR1NI.
The survey is part of the ongoing Land Use Plan update process for Huron County and provides an opportunity for community members to share their ideas, priorities, and vision for how the county should grow and develop over the coming years. Read the first article to learn more about the Land Use planning kick-off.
Community feedback collected through the survey will help inform the development of the Land Use Plan and identify key priorities related to growth, farmland preservation, housing, infrastructure, sustainability, and quality of life. Responses will be reviewed alongside other public engagement activities, technical studies, and planning considerations.
The survey is open until October 31st, 2026.

About the Huron County Land Use Plan
The 2026-2027 Huron County Land Use Planning Process is a comprehensive review and update to the County’s Land Use Plan, which serves as a guide determined to outline the highest and best use of land within county limits. An update is usually done every 5-10 years. This initiative is being led through a partnership between the chosen steering committee members and the Huron County Commissioners, Huron County Growth Partnership, Huron County Soil & Water, and Huron County Planning Commission, with Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. serving as the lead consultant. This project is made possible by funding through the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
